Weddings Abroad at La Pirogue Hotel Mauritius

Revelling in its space and seclusion, La Pirogue is a magnificent hotel, spread out in its vast tropical gardens along one of the longest and finest beaches in all Mauritius that makes it an ideal location for your wedding abroad. Located on the west coast of the island, 35km from the buzzing capital city of Port Louis, La Pirogue tenders plenty of excursion possibilities, most notably in the beautiful south of the island. La Pirogue’s design takes its inspiration from a traditional Mauritian fishing village, presenting authentic architecture and variations on the theme of a pirogue’s (traditional hollowed-out canoe) sail billowing in the wind. The cottages at La Pirogue, particularly, are charming structures constructed from volcanic rock, wood and thatch.

Facilities

La Pirogue offers guests a choice of two restaurants, both presenting a variety of local and international cuisine of the highest quality. There are also two bars and poolside snack service; a range of complimentary water sports and glass-bottomed boat trips to coral reefs. Keep fit and active at La Pirogue’s 7 floodlit tennis courts, volleyball courts and table tennis tables. Live entertainment is available every evening, as are clubs for kids and teens.

Rooms

The cottages are grouped in delightful small villages laid out in an arc pattern. There are 200 Standard guest rooms of a spacious 25m² each, some communicating, which is perfect for families.
Drenched in light and bathed in warm sunshine with fragrant frangipani flowers delicately sited here and there, the rooms also have ceiling fans with large, marine wood blades. These guest rooms and their terraces are an invitation to lazing about and daydreaming, which many guests are all-too-keen to take up!

La Pirogue has 46 Superior guest-rooms of 35m² each, gathered in 5 small villages facing the deep blue Indian Ocean. It truly is an exquisite location. Each occupies a cottage by itself and can accommodate a family of up to 4 (provided the two children are 12 years or younger), thanks to a sofa bed or two convertible armchairs.

The Royal Suites are situated in the northern part of the resort with the two 78m² Royal Suites, Bougainvillaea and Flamboyant, each occupying a larger cottage. Very private and each with their own garden, they open onto the palm grove and the ocean for beautiful views. Superbly appointed with elegant, Asian-style furniture, they are also bright and airy with a large bedroom and separate lounge and dining room. The terraces also afford unparalleled views of the beautiful beach and crystal clear Indian Ocean. Guests receive a complimentary fruit basket upon arrival, with brightly-coloured bouquets and lovely arrangements of frangipani flowers adding to the charm.
