Weddings in Cyprus

Enjoying the glorious sunshine of the east Mediterranean for a good part of the year (with May to September generally wonderful), the ancient island of Cyprus is an extremely popular destination for overseas weddings, especially as it is a location where love seems to be in the air. It is a startlingly beautiful country with intrinsic links to all things romantic, so absolutely the perfect place to tie the knot!

Firstly, as the legend goes, Cyprus is where Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, chose to call home! Amongst other romantic connections, the Roman general and politician Marcus Antonius (better know as Marc Antony) was so taken with Cyprus (particularly the wine!) that he ‘gave’ the island to his lover, Cleopatra! We presume she was extremely happy with her gift, as it is pretty difficult not to love Cyprus!

Beyond the amorous ambience, a key reason as to why Cyprus is a preferred destination of the British for weddings abroad is the short flight time and relative ease of family and friends jetting over to join the happy couple. As a Mediterranean destination, you can rest assured that the beaches of Cyprus are beautiful and the weather generally marvelous, offering up an average of 300 days of sunshine per year. The weather can be a little unpredictable, though, between October and April, but we will be happy to advise you as to when is the best time of year to arrange your Cyprus wedding.
