Denis Island Wedding Abroad in the Seychelles
Denis Island – a resort that brings you one step closer to paradise, constructed in a traditional manner,
brings back memories of colonial times. The entire structure has been built using timber. The lobby has
a thatched roof and as you walk into it, you are greeted by the crisp breeze of the sea. The beach is only
500 meters from the resort and provides a number of water and beach sports for the guests.
Getting to this island resort that has no cell phone reception can be bit of a task. The Denis Island airport
is nearly a 100 kilometers away from the Mahe International airport. The only way to get to the resort is
to opt for a private transfer from the airport in Mahe. Once you reach the island, golf carts are available to
transport the guests to the hotel.
Facilities
This idyllic beach resort offers numerous facilities to keep the guests in comfort and help them enjoy their
vacation to the utmost. The building has a bar, a library, a boutique and a billiards table. The restaurant
has a reputation for offering the best in Seychelles cuisine. The breakfast consists of a buffet where you
get local fruits, eggs fresh from the farm, fresh juice, Danish pastries and croissants. Lunch is an affair that
provides three buffets – salads, hot dishes and an open grill for meat and fish, and desserts. And you can
end the day with a table d’hôte for dinner. Twice a week, dinner is served outdoors, under the open sky and
stars.
There are many recreational facilities for the guests. This place is a great hit with fishing aficionados who can
follow a host of fishing activities like bottom fishing and bone fishing. A PADI accredited dive centre offers
diving and snorkelling facilities. Other activities include canoeing, hiking, sailing, and wind surfing. If you are
not the kind who believes in physical exertion, you can lounge in the bar with your friends or family and have
the delicious cocktails that are something of a specialty.
The hotel also offers other facilities like services for baby sitting, dry cleaning, high speed internet access,
currency exchange and a staff that is multi lingual.
Rooms
Denis Island offers 25 individual cottages located on the beach front. They are all done up in Creole décor and
have four-poster beds, local artwork, wicker furnishings and hardwood floors. All cottages have private verandas
that face the sea, outdoor showers and separate living areas. Of the 25 cottages, 2 slightly larger villas have
second bedrooms and are reserved for guests with families. The bathrooms have a tub for deep soaking and
other amenities like twin jet showers, hair dryers and designer toiletries. Other facilities available in the rooms
are phones with direct dial, air-conditioning, a mini bar, a refrigerator, a double vanity, an iron with the ironing
board, and a daily maid service, among
others.
